Bring Your Passport To Camp

From Monday 9 June to Thursday 12 June, 93 brethren will be making their way to Malaysia for our annual church camp. Don’t forget to bring your P.A.S.S.P.O.R.T. to camp!

P – raise God

Praise God for His blessings and His providence, for allowing us to have an opportunity to have fellowship with brethren at camp. “Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.” (Psalm 150:1)

A – cknowledge Him

Acknowledge that whatever we have belongs to God, even our very lives. Acknowledge that He and He alone has the right to dictate how I behave, not just at camp, but all the days of my life. “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)

S – ing With Grace In Your Hearts To The Lord

We will have many opportunities to sing praises to God during the camp. Sing out loud! Sing with understanding! Every song is an opportunity to praise God and to mutually teach each other. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (Colossians 3:16)

S – erve Each Other

See an older person behind you in the line for food? Why not let him / her go first? See a parent struggling with their kids and their bags? Why not offer to carry their things? See someone in need? Why not take every opportunity at camp to put service into action? “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)

P – atiently Wait

There will be many occasions during the camp that we will have to wait. We will have to wait to clear immigration, we will have to wait to receive our room keys, we will have to wait in line to get our food, we will have to wait! Instead of grumbling, complaining, or getting angry, why not remind ourselves to patiently wait? “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” (James 1:19-20)

O – bey The Rules

The camp has many rules, including things like not going off alone, not going to the pool unaccompanied, and being punctual for activities. Imagine the chaos if everyone decided to do everything their own way! Obey and submit to the rules, for it shows a spirit of humility. “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” (1 Peter 5:5)

R – eflect On Your Life

Lessons will be taught and Bible devotions will be shared during the camp. We should take the opportunity to consider the things that are being taught, and to reflect on our lives – are there things to change? Are there areas where I can improve? We want to go back from camp better than when we first went. “Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.” (Lamentations 3:40)

T – hankfulness In All Things

Thank God for His blessings and providence during camp. Thank the people behind the scenes who are organizing the camp. Thank the teachers of the various classes. Thank your fellow brethren for having fellowship with you. “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Remember brethren: bring your P.A.S.S.P.O.R.T. to camp!
